Yemen Humanitarian Program and Resilience Enhancement for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Host Communities, Funded by Oxfam
The program was implemented by Sheba Youth Foundation with funding from Oxfam, aimed at enhancing the capacities and participation of Yemeni youth, women, and affected minorities in conflict and disaster areas. The project aimed to achieve two main goals: first, to empower youth and women to actively participate in peace processes and decision-making, and second, to improve access to humanitarian aid and sustainable livelihoods for affected individuals. This was achieved through a range of activities including meetings, workshops, and training courses, which enabled youth and women to engage in decision-making, build their capacities, and enhance their confidence in influencing policymakers, thereby strengthening their sense of importance in political processes and peacebuilding.
Establishment of the Rural Women’s Forum in Taiz: Empowerment and Peacebuilding in Collaboration with Oxfam
The Rural Women’s Forum in Taiz aims to empower rural women and enhance peacebuilding efforts. A group of active rural women began participating
in leadership and participatory training, acquiring the skills and confidence needed to implement community initiatives. The forum organized focus
and dialogue sessions to discuss rural women’s issues and share experiences. It is the first of its kind in rural Taiz, bringing together women and
activists from various regions. The success story of the forum highlights the strength and determination of rural women in driving change and
building peace within their communities.
