Sheba Youth Foundation for Development carried out a focus session with elite youth activists in Taiz governorate, concerning “Writing a policy paper about involving youth in the political process.” This session was within the framework of the project “Youth platform for Peace Building”, with a number of Youth-led local organizations from different governorates in Yemen, which focused on youth projects. Moreover, the platform aims to enhance the participation of Yemeni youth in political participation and sustainable development.
As one of the events and activities held by Sheba Youth Foundation, a meeting was held today with all the male and female entrepreneurs who belong to “Build It Up Business Incubator,” which was launched in September 2020. This meeting was the first meeting that brought together the entrepreneurs to discuss their entrepreneurial projects and how to develop them.
Sheba Youth Foundation, represented by Issa Al-Qadasi, a member of the executive management, was hosted in the radio program “Lights and Shadows,” which is broadcast on Watani FM. He talked about “Empowerment projects and their effectiveness in light of Coronavirus crisis.” He also talked about the projects of Sheba Youth Foundation in the field of entrepreneurship, including the business incubator “Build It Up”, which was launched in September, 2020, in addition to the rest of the Foundation’s developmental projects that seek empowerment of women and youth, whether in Taiz Governorate or in Yemen at large.
Sheba Youth Foundation participated with a working paper on “The Role of Yemeni Youth in Renouncing Hatred and Violence” in a regional workshop on the role of youth activists in the field of religion in enhancing human rights in the Middle East and North Africa. This workshop was sponsored by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN-OHCHR) in Tunisia.

In addition, the foundation participated with a working paper on “The Role of Youth Initiatives in Building Peace in Yemen” in the Evidence Symposium on Adolescents and Youth, which was held in the American University of Beirut and sponsored by UNICEF – Regional Office.
Sheba Youth Foundation participated in the regional workshop, held in Amman, Jordan, which was about preparing a training manual on the gender-based sensitivity during the implementation of development and humanitarian work in conflict areas. The workshop was sponsored by Save the Children.

Ola Al-Aghbari, executive director of Sheba Youth Foundation, met with the team of the Regional Advisory Council for Youth and Adolescents in the Middle East and North Africa (RAYAM) in Amman, Jordon to talk about the foundation’s experience and its support for youth empowerment programs in Yemen. RAYAM team publicized the story of Sheba Youth Foundation as one of the successful stories of youth-led organizations from the Middle East, and that it works with a large number of youth and women in Yemen.
Sheba Youth Foundation participated in an intensive workshop to develop a comprehensive strategy for technical education and vocational training in Yemen to reduce unemployment and increase job opportunities for Yemeni youth. The workshop was organized by the International Labor Organization in Amman, Jordon.

Sheba Youth Foundation carried out an educational workshop to raise awareness of the UN Resolution 2250 related to youth, peace, and security for 20 young men and women in Mukalla, Hadhramout Governorate.
Sheba Youth Foundation, in cooperation with Family Foundation and Children’s Talents Radio, participated in the coordination for a lyrical operetta entitled “Oh World Look at Us” in support of childhood in Yemen on the International Child’s Day. It was implemented in the Cultural Center in the Capital Secretariat and a number of effective figures as well as local and international organizations attended it.
Sheba Youth Foundation contributed to support the first marketing exhibition that was held at the Faculty of Commerce, Sana’a University, which aimed to support small projects of the college students, which contributes to encouraging them and helping them find job opportunities through networking between students and the private sector.
