Conflict-Sensitive Journalism Program

Enhance the capabilities of journalists in the field of conflict-sensitive journalism.

The project aims to enhance the capabilities of young journalists in conflict-sensitive journalism. The program provided participants with the following knowledge and skills:

  • Peace building concepts and the opportunities to build peace.
  • Conflict concepts, its stages, its analysis tools and mechanisms to deal with it.
  • Conflict-sensitive journalism and sensitive journalists.
  • Methods of media coverage in accordance with the principles and criteria of peace journalism “conflict-sensitive journalism”
  • The participants implemented five awareness sessions for media students in universities.
  • Coming up with press materials according to the peace journalism criteria.

After the training was completed, a manual entitled “Peace Journalism” was issued, as well as a booklet containing a group of humanitarian stories written by the participants as training outputs.
