Public Services as an Entry Point to Local Peace
In Taiz Governorate, public services are inseparable from the impact of conflict. Water, waste management, and access to services are linked to public trust in institutions, the capacity of local authorities to respond, and day-to-day relationships between communities and local actors.
When these services break down, it is not just the service itself that is affected; the cost of living, people's sense of justice, trust in institutions, and opportunities for collaboration among stakeholders are also impacted. From this understanding, Sheba Youth Foundation for Development works to link public service issues to local peacebuilding through analysis, mediation, trust building, governance support, and documenting lessons.

Water: Mediation & Governance
Sheba Youth Foundation for Development developed a local path in water mediation and governance in Taiz, contributing to understanding the crisis dimensions, opening channels of trust, and building spaces for cooperation over basic public services.
Waste Mediation & Governance in Taiz Governorate
Sheba Youth Foundation for Development developed a path analyzing, mediating, and governing the waste sector in Taiz, showing how sanitation ties to revenues, landfills, labor rights, equipment, fund capacity, and public trust.
Access & Local Peace in Taiz
Sheba Youth Foundation kept road issues and service access present in local meetings, international advocacy spaces, and road opening consultations by building dialogue channels and connecting civilian needs to decision-makers.
